Overview

Bruce Currumbin is a beachfront Currumbin spot for booze, food, music, and culture — the cool-down deck next door to Barefoot’s Gold Coast world. The site had to sell the vibe as hard as the menu: cocktails, small plates, bookings, private dining, What’s On, and a jukebox personality that does not feel like a generic restaurant template.

I built the WordPress front end from Figma, then supported ongoing maintenance with Google Tag Manager and analytics so the team can track enquiries, bookings interest, and campaign traffic without guessing.

The challenge

Venue sites get loud fast — long menus, event calendars, booking CTAs, and function forms all competing for attention. Bruce needed:

  • A pixel-faithful Figma to WordPress theme that keeps the brand’s playful, beach-bar energy
  • Clear paths for menu, bookings, functions / private dining, What’s On, and contact
  • Mobile-first browsing for locals and visitors checking the deck before they walk down Pacific Parade
  • GTM and analytics tied to the real actions that matter (table interest, function enquiries, key content)
  • Ongoing maintenance as menus, events, and seasonal surcharges change

What we built

1. Figma to WordPress conversion

Design sections from Figma became a custom WordPress theme — hero storytelling, about, food and drink menus, cocktail lists, booking prompts, private dining forms, What’s On, and contact. The goal was brand fidelity without trapping editors in a rigid page builder for every price change.

2. Currumbin-local structure

GEO matters here: Bruce is a Currumbin / Gold Coast beachfront venue, not a national chain. Page structure and content patterns support how people search for a table, a function space, or “what’s on in Currumbin” — with CTAs that stay obvious on small screens.

3. Google Tag Manager & analytics

GTM was installed as the tag layer so marketing pixels and conversion events can evolve without theme surgery. Analytics foundations track the journeys that pay the bills — menu engagement, booking intent, and function enquiries — so ads and content decisions have a cleaner feedback loop.

4. Ongoing maintenance

Post-launch support covers WordPress updates, small UX/content tweaks, form and event changes, and tracking adjustments when campaigns shift. Hospitality calendars move; the site should move with them.

What shipped

  • Custom Figma-to-WordPress theme for the Bruce brand
  • Menu, bookings, functions, What’s On, and contact templates
  • Mobile-led UX for beachfront guest behaviour
  • Google Tag Manager and analytics setup
  • Ongoing WordPress maintenance after launch

Outcome

The live site at brucecurrumbin.com.au presents Bruce as a Currumbin beachfront bar with food, cocktails, music, and functions — built in WordPress from Figma, measurable through GTM/analytics, and kept current with ongoing maintenance.

Who this pattern suits

  • Bars and restaurants that need a design-led WordPress build, not a stock theme
  • Gold Coast venues where local discovery and mobile booking paths matter
  • Operators who want tracking wired at launch and a maintainer afterward
