Australia Study

Figma-to-WordPress build for Australia Study — custom theme for study, work and holiday journeys, WooCommerce integrations, data layer and analytics, plus ongoing maintenance.

  • Type Figma to WordPress
  • Year 2023
  • Client Australia Study

Overview

Australia Study helps people study, work, and travel across Australia — bachelor and masters pathways, English and VET courses, Working Holiday (WHV) packages, free English tests, and consultations for students deciding from overseas or already onshore. The brand speaks to an international audience (multi-language entry points) while the destination is firmly Australian.

I developed the WordPress site from Figma as a custom theme, wired WooCommerce where packages and paid flows need a proper cart, implemented a clean data layer with analytics tracking, and stayed on for ongoing maintenance as programs and campaigns evolve.

The challenge

Education and migration-adjacent sites fail when they look like a brochure with a contact form bolted on. Australia Study needed a build that could:

  • Convert a full Figma system into a maintainable WordPress custom theme — not a page-builder collage
  • Guide visitors through study vs work-and-holiday paths without burying consultations, English tests, or WHV packages
  • Support WooCommerce for package and product-style purchases where the business needs checkout, not just “email us”
  • Ship a trustworthy data layer + analytics setup so ads, consultations, and funnel steps are measurable
  • Stay editable for content and SEO teams publishing visa, university, and job guides aimed at international searchers

What we built

1. Figma to WordPress — custom theme

The design language from Figma became a custom WordPress theme: homepage storytelling (“Study Work Explore Australia”), program exploration, consultation CTAs, multi-step “going to Australia / in Australia” journeys, blog/resource templates, and team pages. Reusable sections keep the brand consistent when editors add campaigns or destination content.

2. Information architecture for study & WHV intent

GEO and AEO matter here. People search for Australian study options, Working Holiday visas, English courses, and “what to do when I land.” The structure keeps Study (bachelor, masters, English, VET), WHV packages, consultation, and content hubs discoverable — so both classic search and answer-style queries can land on a clear next step instead of a dead-end homepage.

3. WooCommerce integrations

Where Australia Study sells packages or productised offerings, WooCommerce handles cart and checkout flows integrated into the theme — so the commerce layer matches the brand UX rather than looking like a bolted-on store.

4. Data layer & analytics

A structured data layer feeds Google Tag Manager / analytics events for key actions (consultation interest, English test, program exploration, ecommerce where relevant). That gives marketing a measurement foundation instead of guessing which campaigns actually book conversations.

5. Ongoing maintenance

After launch I continued WordPress care: updates, fixes, content and template tweaks, WooCommerce adjustments, and tracking changes when funnels or ads shift. Education marketing calendars move; the site has to keep up.
